JaMychal Green Still Open

JaMychal Green wasn't on the national radar a year ago. However, the St. Jude (Ala.) 6-foot-8 1/2 junior forward played well enough this past summer to earn the No. 23 spot in Scout.com's Class of 2008 rankings.

JaMychal Green doesn't know his numbers, but it's safe to say they are pretty impressive.

The 6-foot-8 ½, 220-pound junior forward at St. Jude (Ala.) scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a loss to state power LeFlore and is coming off a 24-point, 14-rebound performance in a victory over Robert E. Lee on Friday night.

``I'm doing OK," Green said. "I think I'm stepping it up, but I still have more I need to work on."

Green is playing both forward spots and his coach is allowing him to showcase his versatility.

``I need to work on my perimeter game, my whole perimeter game," Green said.

As far as his recruitment is concerned, the only unofficial visit that Green has taken is to nearby Tuscaloosa where he watched the Crimson Tide go up against Mississippi State on the gridiron.

Green said that Auburn, Marquette, Kansas, Florida, Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State are also in the mix.

``I'm going to try and get to Georgia Tech, Florida and maybe Marquette for unofficials," Green said. "But I'm still open."
