Visser Pledges Three More Trips

Kyle Visser is proof that things can change in a hurry. The Grand Rapids (MI) Forest Hills Central product used the summer to change the landscape of his recruitment.

Three Visits In The Works

Just when Western Michigan, San Diego State and Central Michigan started getting comfortable, Kyle Visser goes and blows up. He didn't just "blow up" he erupted.

"It's definitely picked up," Visser said of his recruitment. "I got it narrowed down to seven if that helps." Right now, he's listing San Diego State, Michigan, Indiana, Wake Forest, Georgia, Notre Dame and Western Michigan.

"I knew I was going to do well. Just getting the right looks and playing well in front of a few people."

"Viss" has already visited San Diego State; a visit that was orchestrated by the fact that Visser knew Steve Fisher and Brian Dutcher from their Wolverine days.

Visser's next visit is scheduled Labor Day weekend with Georgia. Wake Forest has been with him a long time and the Deacs get a trip the weekend of Sept. 7. Indiana checks in with visit No. 4 the weekend of Sept. 14.

Those three visits plus the previous trip to San Diego State tally four, leaving just one left. "It'll probably be Notre Dame just because I've been to Michigan before. That's not choosing Notre Dame over Michigan, it's just that I've been to Michigan before."

For Visser, the people in and around the program will go a long way in helping him reach a decision. "Obviously, everyone wants to win. The people are important; location not so much but a little. If it's far from home and the place is right, I'll go."

Arizona and Kansas had expressed some July interest in him but Visser thought that he was a lot further down on their lists than he wanted to be and so he moved in other directions with no hard feelings. "That's not a good fit for me," Visser said of being someone's third-tier target.
