Forbes Schedules Two Officials

Forbes has a pretty good idea of where he wants to play, at least what conference he wants to play in. The Banneker small forward has two official visits set up so far.

ACC, Big East or Cincinnati For Forbes

Gary Forbes pretty much accomplished what he set out to do this summer. With one fine performance at the Nike All-American Camp he raised his national profile. Now, he's looking into playing at the highest level.

"I need to go in the ACC or Big East," Forbes said. "That's just the best two conferences."

Within those parameters, Forbes said he's receiving the most interest from Georgia Tech, Virginia, NC State, UConn and Cincinnati. We think most have offered and so does Forbes, but our sources say NC State hasn't pulled the trigger on an offer.

Cincinnati, well, they aren't in the Big East or ACC. "That's like a school that could jump in," Forbes said.

As for visits, Forbes has two planned. Virginia receives an official visit from him Sept. 13. ACC foe Georgia Tech is next and that trip is set for Sept. 21. "Everything is just open right now," Forbes said.

He furthered clarified that "open" means every school on his list has a chance. "I want to fit into the campus as well as get my education. I want a school that's going to provide my education and take me to the next level."

Last season, Forbes averaged 25 points a game. After going through the spring and summer AAU circuit, he knows what he needs to improve to get better. "Just handling but I'm working on that right now. I've got to go to Five-Star and do the same thing I did at the Eastern Invitational."

For those ranked ahead of him, Forbes has a message. "Tell all the wings out there to beware. I'm not finished yet."
