Luster Joins The Aggies

JayDee Luster, one of the most prolific guards in San Diego High School history, is headed to New Mexico State.

JayDee Luster, the 5-foot-8 starting point guard at San Diego Hoover since his freshman season, committed to New Mexico State Friday afternoon.

"JayDee felt that New Mexico State with Coach Theus at the helm is an up and coming program," Hoover coach Ollie Goulston said. "He liked their style of play and saw a great opportunity there. He is very excited to play for someone as accomplished as Coach Theus and just loved the entire New Mexico State community."

Luster San Diego's all-time leader in career assists (803), career steals (514), and single season steals (189). In 90 career games, Luster has scored 1,765 career points and is trying to join Jason Kidd as the only high school players in U.S. history with 2,000 points, 1,000 assists, and 500 steals in a career. Luster's 514 career steals also rank him 3rd in U.S. history.

Through four games this season, Luster is accounting for 32.8 points, 7 assists and 8 steals.
