McClellan Still Looking

Darshawn McClellan, a 6-6 senior forward from Edison High in Fresno, Calif., has already visited one Big West program, as well as a local WAC school. He told us he hopes to choose a school by the end of this season...

Darshawn McClellan, 6-6 SR PF/SF Fresno (Calif.) Edison, is an intriguing prospect who is something of a tweener. He's not a true three or four, but he's got fairly good skills and some upside.

We spoke with McClellan at the Mission Prep tournament and he gave us a list of schools that he's heard from.

"Vanderbilt, Fresno State, Pacific, Boston College, Cal Poly, South Carolina...some others," said McClellan.

McClellan took a visit to Pacific in September and we asked him how the visit went.

"I liked UOP," said McClellan. "It's a nice campus, the people are great and the staff is real nice."

McClellan told us UOP and Fresno State have offered a scholarship.

"I might visit Vanderbilt, maybe during the season," said McClellan.

McClellan said he doesn't have a favorite.

"There is no real leader," said McClellan. "I'm open to everyone."

McClellan said he is academically qualified and he'll decide sometime before April.
