High Majors On Coleman

Marques Coleman, 6-3 JR PG Glendale (Ariz.) Cactus, is a player who impressed us quite a bit at the Arizona Preps Showcase in the fall. A true point guard, Coleman is an excellent passer and he has a very good feel for the game.

We spoke with Coleman recently and asked about the schools that have been out to see him recently.

"Nevada either came to my game tonight (Wednesday) or they're coming soon," said Coleman. "Cal said they're coming to see me. UC Irvine and New Mexico have also been out."

We asked Coleman if there are other schools he's considering that have not been out to his school.

"I'm interested in Stanford, Arizona State and Oregon as well," said Coleman.

When asked if he has a favorite, Coleman replied, "Stanford and Nevada are two that I like a lot, but I'm not eliminating anyone at this point."

Coleman has yet to take any unofficial visits, but we asked if he has given thought to the schools he'd like to visit.

"I'm pretty sure I want to visit Arizona State – I talked with their coach recently about visit," said Coleman. "I want to see Stanford, UC Irvine and Nevada also."

Coleman doesn't see himself making a decision in the near future.

"I think I'd like to decide prior to my senior season," said Coleman.

An excellent student, Coleman previously told us he has a 3.9 GPA.
