Brayden Billbe, 6-9 SR C Mercer Island (Wash.) High, was a player who caught our eye at the Pump camp in July. We were very impressed with the effort put forth by Billbe and thought he could be a nice prospect at the mid-major level. His offensive game is still developing, but he's got nice hands, pretty good feet and he's willing to bang inside.

We spoke with Brayden's father Ted last night and Mr. Billbe gave us an update on his son's recruitment. "Boise St. is a school that's high on his list. They'll be coming in for an in-home visit on September 18th."

Other D1 schools that have shown interest are Cal Poly, Air Force, Navy, Buffalo, Portland, UC Riverside and UC Irvine.

We asked Mr. Billbe about the factors that might influence Brayden's decision. "Where they see him playing, and the depth they have at that position, could be a factor," Mr. Billbe said. "He prefers playing the four. Also, he's grown up on the West Coast, so he might prefer staying in the west."

When questioned about the timing of his son's decision, Mr. Billbe said, "He'd just as soon decide early and get it done so he can focus on the season."

Mr. Billbe told us that Brayden is a good student and he'll have no trouble qualifying.
