Tulsa Lands McDade
Going into his first official visit, Brett McDade had a pretty good idea where he wanted to commit to college. On Sunday morning, he made his decision.
McDade committed to Tulsa, the school who led during his entire recruiting process. Makes sense, he was Tulsa's top target at the point.
"I had known I wanted to go there but when we first got down there and we walked around campus and everyone looked at coach like a hero … they just love basketball down there," McDade said.
Tulsa was attractive to McDade because of the quality of the program and the playing time situation. "There's playing time available when I get there so I could come in and start."
A former Tulsa guard and current assistant played a key role in McDade's recruitment. "Pooh Williamson was the one talking to me a lot on the phone. I really liked his personality. I know he knows how good the program is. The fact that he wanted to go back and coach there tells you how good Tulsa is."
Last year, McDade averaged 21 points a game. He considered Drake, Houston, North Texas and Louisiana Tech.
