Tulsa Lands Another Guard

Apparently, John Phillips and Tulsa has it rolling. The Golden Hurricane secured another piece to their backcourt of the future. While Brett McDade committed over the weekend, so did another Texas guard.

Kelly Picks Tulsa

Brett McDade and Kenneth Kelly played together on the same summer league team this year. Tulsa recruited them as its backcourt of the future and apparently that's going to happen. Yesterday, we reported McDade's commitment after his visit and today we have Kelly's.

The 6-1, 185 pound combo guard visited Tulsa shortly before McDade arrived at campus at the end of last week. He too committed before he left.

"I felt like it was a great situation," Kelly said. "They have five players graduating and I can come in and contribute as a freshman." It didn't hurt the Golden Hurricane that Seneca Collins is already in the program. Kelly knew Collins well from his days at Duncanville (TX) High.

Kelly was receiving recruiting attention from Texas Christian, Southern Methodist, Oklahoma, North Texas and UNC-Wilmington. He said that upon committing to Tulsa, he cancelled visits to North Texas and UNC-W.

Last year, Kelly averaged 20 points a game.
