Cardinals Land Juco Scorer

Louisville added its fourth recruit of the year this past weekend. Nate Daniels, a standout at Broward, committed according to his junior college coach.

Daniels Picks Louisville After Visit

Nate Daniels visited Louisville during the holiday weekend. Apparently, he liked what he saw and became Louisville's fourth commitment of the year.

"He really liked it," Broward coach Bob Starkman said. "I've been dealing with Vince Taylor and he's been nothing but aces."

Daniels came to Broward after a redshirt year at Fresno State where he transferred from after Chris Jeffries opted to remain a Bulldog instead of turning pro early.

"He's just a phenomenal scorer," Starkman said. "I'm real glad for him. [Rick] Pitino and that whole program is a perfect fit for him. Look at his players; he likes those 6-8, 6-7 off guards."

Texas Tech pursued him very strongly according to Starkman. Florida International, Missouri and St. John's expressed interest but so did a number of schools. "Nate just felt very loyal since Louisville was looking at him right away."

Daniels joins guard Brandon Jenkins, center James Lang and juco big man Nouha Diakite as members of the 2003 Louisville recruiting class.
