Correia Has Two Trips Left

Gary Correia is a commodity. He's an unsigned combo guard with grades and that means he's holding a lot of cards. Which one will he play this spring?

Gary Correia's stock has been steady since a nice showing last November in a prep tournament. A 6-foot combo guard out of Northfield (Mass.) Mount Hermon, Correia visited Toledo, Drexel and Chattanooga during the early period. He has two official visits remaining.

Who gets the visits?

"I'm really not sure," Correia said. "Stuff like that, me and John Carroll talk about it and he says I can play at the highest level possible. At the same time, I have some great universities that want me. I don't really know what I'm waiting for but me and John Carroll are going to sit down and talk about where my next two visits will go."

The contenders appear to be St. Louis, Tulane, San Diego and Drexel; all of whom have offered. Penn State and Iowa State have expressed interest. The Cyclones were prevented from seeing Correia this week because of a nasty storm.

"I just want to play ball. I want to walk into a good situation where I could play right away. I understand that no matter where I go I'll have to battle for playing time. I just want to have an opportunity."
