DJ Seely, a skilled and athletic junior wing from Lodi, Calif., hasn't received much attention yet and isn't well known outside of the west. Seely has, however, caught the attention of a few schools...
, 6-4 JR SG Lodi (Calif.) Tokay, has the size and skills to possibly play at the high major level. Seely lives in an area where not many people get to see him, but he's got a chance to emerge as one of the better wings in this class. We spoke with Seely the other day and he gave us a list of schools that have been in contact with him.
"Arkansas has been talking to me a lot -- I took a trip there," said Seely. "Also, Arizona State, Washington State, USC -- a few of the Pac-10 schools -- plus Santa Clara, Pacific...a few others."
We asked Seely which coaches have been out to see him.
"Santa Clara has come to some games and I think USC and UOP," said Seely.
When questioned about what he is looking for in a school, Seely said, "I like warm weather -- I think I want to stay in the west. I took that trip to Arkansas, but I'm not sure I want to leave the west. Early playing time would be good, but it's not a big deal."
Seely said he favored a Pac-10 program when he was growing up.
"UCLA was my dream school," said Seely.
Seely is in no hurry to make his decision.
"I'll probably decide sometime after the summer," said Seely.
Seely told us he has a 2.8 GPA.
