Thundering Herd Land Guard

Trey Whitted recently complete his official visit to Marshall. Now, the Thundering Herd has a new shooting guard.

Marshall Lands Whitted

The Thundering Herd landed themselves a commitment last weekend. Trey Whitted visited Marshall last weekend and took care of business on the trip.

Whitted picked Marshall over Eastern Michigan and Eastern Kentucky. "I thought all three schools did a great job," Kevin Nunley, Whitted's AAU coach said. "They all had a need and they went after him really hard. Every program was up and up with him. I thought the process went well."

Last year, Whitted averaged 17 points a game for Laney, which by the way, is the same high school Michael Jordan attended. He ran this summer with the Raleigh Heat.

Nunley thinks Whitted has a bright future. "I think he can be a real good player. He fits into what they want to do. I believe he's going to be an excellent college shooter and scorer. He really spent the last spring and summer working hard and getting his game better."

Apparently, Whitted isn't afraid of gym time and is a hard worker. "He gets all the credit. He spent a lot of hours in the gym. He didn't have anything in April."

And now, he's headed to Marshall.
