Sandoval's List Is Long

Speedy point guard Andres Sandoval wants to make a decision by the end of the month. In order to do that, he's going to have to get things moving with his visit schedule. So far, he has one visit set up.

George Washington Goes First

Andres Sandoval, a native of Florida who attends school in New England, has himself a long list, maybe the longest list we've seen this month.

Sandoval is receiving interest from East Carolina, George Washington, DePaul, Kent State, UMass, Tulane, South Carolina, St. Bonaventure, George Mason, Richmond, West Virginia, South Florida, Syracuse, Virginia and Georgia Tech. Whew, and it's already September.

"I'm just staying in and looking at each school," Sandoval said. "There's plenty of schools that are coming to look at me in September. When I think I have it narrowed down, five more schools come into the picture. Really, I'm just sitting back and listening to everybody."

Of the schools listed above, he feels like everybody but Georgia Tech, Syracuse and Virginia have offered. What's interesting is that Sandoval lists a number of schools but says he wants to commit soon.

"I'm hoping late September. Seeing how all these schools are coming into the picture, people say I might not be able to decide early but I want to."

Allow us to try and project some focus onto this situation. Given the fact we know Sandoval wants to decide relatively soon, we can probably make a few assumptions. George Washington and Richmond appear to be in decent shape. Why you ask? Well, George Washington has a visit scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 15. Furthermore, Sandoval says that he thinks he'll also visit Richmond. A little deductive reasoning never hurt in recruiting.

Sandoval says that most of the schools are coming in for home visits. The interest is a direct result of a summer in which college coaches were able to see that while he's still a work in progress at the point, he's extremely fast and his tempo impacts game. He can be a top notch defender and has plenty of athleticism.

"I worked hard before the summer started and now it's starting to payoff."
