Clark's Focus Narrowing

If you speak with enough college basketball coaches one of the common complaints about their team – and at this time of the year there are many! – is "we can't make a shot."

Enter Gary Clark. The one-time Florida commitment is that 6-foot-3 shooting guard who clips them at 43% from 3-point range according to his high school coach. Last Saturday, though he didn't stroke it all night, he did when it mattered in the second half.

Clark drilled a pair of 3s and made 4 straight free throws to cap Montverde's win over Benedictine.

"Every game he's been big," point guard Dashan Harris said. "It's all about the end to the game not the start."

"Those are huge plays," Sutton said. "They're momentum breakers and they are back breakers and it enabled us to build the lead to 41-33."

Clark's skill set is in demand. Vanderbilt sent its head coach and two assistants to watch him. Wake Forest and Virginia Tech countered with their head coaches as well.

According to Sutton, his guard will visit Virginia Tech the weekend of March 3 and then Wake Forest next month. Seth Greenberg's two backcourt starters are seniors and late signees from the state of Florida, ala Clark. Translation: the Hokies will try and seal that deal.

Sutton also indicated that Arkansas and Georgia are in the mix. Cincinnati recently dropped out.
