Mitchell Finds His Way To The Big East

Alvin Mitchell does something the Bearcats need: he scores. On Wednesday the Floridian made it official for Cincinnati.

The Cincinnati Bearcats pursuit of more scoring punch found its way to Florida this week. Mick Cronin's club nabbed one of the state's highest scoring players in the form of small forward Alvin Mitchell out of Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons.

Mitchell took Big East trips to Cincinnati and St. John's in the recent months before ultimately selecting the Bearcats.

The athletic and strongly built Mitchell was Scout.com's No. 26 small forward coming off of last summer's performance with Team Breakdown. He then went on to average a whopping 34 points a game this season for Cardinal Gibbons.

"I'm just a scorer," Mitchell told the Cincinnati Enquirer. "I play hard on offense and defense."

UC's highest rated recruit is Jason Henry, a versatile wing player who could see time at three positions. They're joined by Texan Larry Davis, New Jersey native Rashad Bishop and North Carolina strongman Kenny Belton out of Greensboro Dudley.
