D.J. Strawberry, 6-4 SR SG Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, is a player with all the tools to be an impact guy at the high major level. Strawberry hasn't quite put it all together just yet and consquently he's flown below the radar for a lot of schools.
One school that is very interested in Strawberry, though, is Maryland. The Terrapins will host Strawberry on an official visit next Thursday.
Other schools that have expressed some degree of interest are Florida St. and Depaul. Strawberry said he may visit those schools later this month.
Strawberry told us that he doesn't yet have a leader. "No, I don't have anyone leading," Strawberry said. "I just want to go somewhere I can play with a nice campus. I want to take some trips and see what these schools are like."
When we asked if any coaches had made a strong impression over the phone, Strawberry replied, "The Maryland and Florida St. coaches -- they've both been good."
Strawberry said that he wants to make a decision by the fall signing date.
