, 6-1 SR PG/SG Los Angeles (Calif.) Verbum Dei, is one of the better unsigned guards in the West Coast class of 2007. A big, strong guard who might play the one or two in college, Diggs is a good decision-maker and solid lead guard. We spoke with his father recently and got an update on his son's recruitment.
"He's hearing from Colgate, Kent State, Oregon State and Loyola Marymount right now," said Mr. Diggs. "Those are the main four schools."
We asked Mr. Diggs about the criteria his son will be looking for in choosing a school.
"Academics is the main thing," said Mr. Diggs. "And he wants to find a place where fits in with a chance to play.
When we asked if he had preference in terms of Jalonni playing close to home or going away, Mr. Diggs replied, "I'd love to see him play, of course. But he has family in the east and he'll go to the place that's the best fit for him."
Mr. Diggs said that Jalonni has yet to take any visits, but hopes to set some up in the near future.
"He'll probably visit Colgate in the spring," said Mr. Diggs. "And the probably at least two of the others as well."
