Oscar Bellfield, a 6-1 junior guard from Southern California, is an athletic slasher with a developing jump shot. He tells us he's hearing from some programs in the Pac-10, Mountain West and Conference USA, among others...
, 6-1 JR SG Los Angeles (Calif.) Westchester, is a very good athlete who is effective in transition and slashing off the wing. Bellfield is attempting to make the transition to the one, after mostly playing off the ball earlier in his career. We spoke with him recently and he gave us a list of schools that have been in contact with him.
"UNLV, Memphis, Washington, USC, San Diego State...those are some of them," said Bellfield.
We asked Bellfield what he is looking for in a school.
"I'm not sure I want to stay close," said Bellfield. "I might want to go away. I want to go someplace that fits the way I play and that will help me get better."
We asked Bellfield if early playing time is a consideration.
"I don't mind if I'm not playing early," said Bellfield. "It's all about learning."
Bellfield said he's not close to making a decision.
"I'll probably decide after the summer," said Bellfield.
Bellfield told us he has a B average.
