"Gary has a high basketball I.Q, and I fully expect him to walk into Wake Forest University and be prepared academically, be prepared socially and be prepared athletically to compete in all three of those areas," Montverde coach Kevin Sutton told the paper. "So I definitely think Gary is prepared to go to the collegiate level and play in the ACC."
Clark, a native of Florida, was at one time property of the Florida Gators. When that situation failed to materialize in the form of a signature, Clark's recruitment opened. Last month at a game in Richmond, Clark drew head coaches from Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt; his final list of schools.
Prosser has tapped into the Montverde pipeline before. Freshman L.D. Williams spent his senior season under Kevin Sutton's tutelage at the school.
Clark's role in Winston-Salem should be fairly well defined. He's been brought into the fold to crank out 3-pointers, a chore he's more than capable of handling well. As a senior, Clark drained them at a 43-percent rate from behind the arc.
