Lashard Anderson Still On The Board

Lashard Anderson, a 5-11 unsigned senior point guard from San Diego, Calif., is very skilled and should be hearing from more schools than he is at the moment. We spoke with his mother recently to get the scoop on his recruitment...

Lashard Anderson, 5-11 SR PG San Diego (Calif.) Serra, is one of the more under the radar players in the west for 2007. A quick and talented true point, Anderson does have a somewhat slight frame. But he's got a natural feel for the position and above average skills. He's definitely been under recruited to date.

We spoke with Anderson's mother recently and she gave us an update on her son's recruitment.

"We've been hearing some from West Point," said Mrs. Anderson. "Long Beach State had a lot of interest, but the staff there has been replaced. Cal Poly was calling some. And San Diego had some interest, but they have a new coach also."

Mrs. Anderson said Lashard will play in two all-star games this coming weekend.

"There's a game on Friday that is just San Diego kids," said Mrs. Anderson. "Then on Saturday, he's playing in a game that is San Diego kids against Los Angeles kids."

Mrs. Anderson told us that Lashard has a 3.1 GPA and he'll be taking a second attempt at the SAT in the near future.
