Colin Chieverton, 6-5 JR SF San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty, is a talented scorer with a classic wing body. We spoke with Chieverton recently and he gave us an updated list of the schools he's been hearing from to date.

"Oregon, Marquette, Pepperdine, Washington State, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Gonzaga and Georgetown," said Chieverton.

When we asked if any school stands out for him, Chieverton replied, "I really like Oregon and Marquette – those are probably my favorites right now."

We asked Chieverton what he likes about those two programs.

"They were both in the Top 20 during this year, they're prestigious programs that develop players and they're both guard-oriented teams," said Chieverton.

Chieverton said one program has extended a scholarship offer so far.

"Pepperdine has offered," said Chieverton. "The other ones have said they want to wait and see how I do in the summer."

Chieverton will play with the Oakland Soldiers in the spring and summer. He said the Soldiers will be in Las Vegas for the first weekend in April and then in Houston for the Kingwood Classic.

Chieverton told us he has a 3.0 GPA and doesn't plan on making a commitment until he has taken some official visits. When we asked if he has any schools in mind for visits, Chieverton said, "I definitely want to visit Marquette."
