Big Time National Programs Are Interested
Raleigh Enloe forward PJ Tucker knew the score. When you are a slightly undersized forward – albeit with a huge motor – and your grades aren't exactly what they should be, things could take time to develop from a recruiting perspective.
Now, Tucker is quick to report that so far he's performing well in school this year and that part of his recruiting equation is on track to take care of itself. With that said, he's looking to take the temperature of four schools showing interest in him.
Tucker said that he's recently been in contact with coaches from Kansas, Maryland, Connecticut and Texas. The Longhorns will be in Raleigh later this week for a contact. Tucker said that none of the four programs have offered but he's pretty sure they are interested.
It looks like Tucker will be seen by these schools in workouts this month and then look into the visits. "Actually, I haven't set up any [visits] yet," Tucker said. "I wanted to wait until now to see who I was going to hear from. Now, I'm calling the schools to make sure of the visits."
Tucker is one of those recruits that will absolutely grow on you as the year progresses. He plays with the relentlessness of a big time rebounder. Coaches are taken by his passion and intensity.
