Michigan Wins Recruiting Battle
The Michigan Wolverines have secured the most important big man addition of the Tommy Amaker Era. TheInsidersHoops.com has learned that Courtney Sims offered the Wolverines staff a commitment on Wednesday night.
Our source stated that the big man was able to get in touch with every staff that had been recruiting him, except for Boston College and he was expected to do that by Thursday at the latest.
In the end, Michigan, Syracuse, Boston College, UConn and Maryland were the final suitors.
As a junior, Sims averaged 26 points and 16 rebounds. Still, he was able to fly somewhat under the national radar until he made his way to Indianapolis in July for the Nike All-American Camp. At Camp, he was superb. He showcased big time rebounding and shot blocking skills to go along with a nice offense presence.
Sims, at No. 39 in our preseason rankings, is the highest rated big man prospect Amaker has landed since his arrival in Ann Arbor.
