2008 Introduction: Devon Manning

Devon Manning, a talented 6-2 junior guard from Pueblo Central in Colorado, gives us an update on the early stages of his recruitment. The Big Sky, WAC and MVC conferences are represented on Manning's list...

Devon Manning, 6-2 JR PG Pueblo (Col.) Pueblo Central, told us recently that he's hearing from Montana, Portland State, Weber State and Wichita State.

"I haven't talked with Wichita State yet, but they've been sending me lots of stuff," said Manning.

Manning said he doesn't have a leader yet.

"I don't really know what each school has to offer," said Manning. "I haven't had a chance to visit any of them yet."

We asked Manning what he is looking for in a school.

"Someplace where I feel comfortable, where I don't really feel like I'm away from home," said Manning. "Someplace that has a family environment."

We asked Manning if he has a preference regarding the location of the school.

"Staying close isn't a big deal," said Manning. "The farther away the better."

When questioned about the importance of early playing time, Manning replied, "early time is somewhat important, but it's not that big a deal."

We asked Manning if he has a timeframe for his decision.

"I talked with my parents and we decided it would be sometime during the first part of my senior year," said Manning.

Manning told us he has a 3.5 GPA.
