Kingwood, Jam Fest Tip Today!

The spring most serious weekend of hoops is upon us and is poised to bring you all the action. Kingwood and Jam Fest tip Friday night!

The Kingwood Classic provides summer travel team aficionados with a breadth of big name programs from all over the country. The Southern Cal All-Stars, led by point guard Brandon Jennings represent the West Coast. Power packed crews from other parts of the country include the prospect-laced Atlanta Celtics.

The nation's top prospect, power forward Greg Monroe is in attendance down in Houston. He'll match up Saturday with Jrue Holiday's Pump ‘n Run crew in an afternoon showdown of Top 5 players.

A sampling of top players slated to attend from the Top 50 includes – Drew Gordon (Oakland Soldiers), Al-Farouq Aminu (Georgia Stars), Steve Tchiengang (T-MAC), Scott Suggs (St. Louis Eagles), Elliot Williams (M3MM Ballers), Malcolm Lee (Inland Reebok), JaMychal Green (Alabama Challenge), Ken Kadji (Florida Rams), Willie Warren (Team Texas), J'Covan Brown and J'Mison Morgan (Urban DWF). will provide comprehensive coverage of the nation's largest spring traveling team event Friday thru Sunday!

A year ago, the Pittsburgh Jam Fest came onto the scene and made quite an impression.

This year the tournament has brought on plenty of big-name teams and players, so that naturally means plenty of the nation's top coaches will be in to evaluate. Most of the games will be held at the University of Pittsburgh.

Action gets underway Friday at 6:30 p.m. and the championship game will take place at the Peterson Center at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.'s No. 2 player in the Class of 2008, Tyreke Evans, will be in attendance. The Metro Hawks duo of Samardo Samuels and Sylven Landesburg will also be in Pittsburgh this weekend.

Boo Williams, with its big man duo of Ed Davis and Ty Walker, gets underway against the New York City Jaguars at 7:40 p.m. on Friday night. Other high-profile programs who will be participating include the Playaz Basketball Club, Michigan Hurricanes, Southeast Elite, Illinois Warriors, New York Panthers, DC Assault, Albany City Rocks, South Carolina Ravens, The Family, Gauchos and many more.

Some of the other players expected to be in attendance include William Buford, Romero Osby, Darius Miller, Chris Joseph, Terrelle Pryor, Sean Mosley, Dexter Strickland and Erik Murphy.
