Kelly Makes Big East Decision

Jeremiah Kelly, one of the top available 2008 point guards, made a collegiate decision this week. His choice will allow him to play close to his roots.

The DePaul Blue Demons dipped into the 2008 point guard pool and scored themselves a good one.'s soon-to-be No. 19 point guard in the class, Jeremiah Kelly, declared for the Blue Demons on Wednesday.

"It pretty much felt like a school for me," Kelly told "It's the right system where I can fit in easily with a great coaching staff."

Last Sunday, Kelly said that Valparaiso, Florida State and Illinois were tagging him but DePaul was his most ardent pursuer. A day after the Hensley Run ‘n Slam, Kelly took his final unofficial visit and found DePaul to be his choice.

"The offense is what I like to run – run and gun. I'm a vocal leader and I love to win."

The Chicago native will leave the Windy City – he prepped at Boys To Men Academy this year – for a final season. He'll be either at American Christian or Stoneridge Prep before returning home where he'll spend the next four seasons.

"(Location) was a big factor. It's going to be a fun experience that I'm looking forward to it."
