Tinsley Getting Close To Decision

Brad Tinsley, a junior shooting guard from Oregon, had a solid showing the April evaluation period. Several West Coast programs are involved with Tinsley and he might be ready to make his college choice fairly soon...

Brad Tinsley, 6-3 JR SG Oregon City (Ore.) High, is a very good shooter and a solid ball-handler. We see Tinsley primarily at the two, but he might play some point guard as well.

We spoke with Tinsley recently and asked about the schools involved in his recruitment.

"The main ones are Cal, Pepperdine, Gonzaga, Nevada and Utah," said Tinsley.

When asked which programs have extended scholarship offers, Tinsley replied, "Cal, Utah, Pepperdine and Nevada have offered."

We asked Tinsley about the factors he'll consider when making his choice.

"Mostly the style of play -- I like to get up and down," said Tinsley. "Location doesn't matter. As far as playing time, I'd like to play some as a freshman."

Tinsley has yet to take any visits.

"I'm playing baseball, so it's tough to find the time," said Tinsley. "Maybe I'll take some unofficials."

Tinsley said he could be ready to make his college choice relatively soon.

"I think it will be in about a month," said Tinsley. "I'll probably decide by the end of June."

Tinsley told us he has a 3.8 GPA.
