Martin Will Play In The Big 12

Houston (TX) Nimitz small forward Cartier Martin has four programs in mind. He's already visited one school and it looks like he'll be playing in the Big 12.

Big 12 Schools Battle For Martin

One thing is certain in the recruitment of small forward Cartier Martin: he's going to sign with a Big 12 school. He doesn't have any schools from another conference on his list.

"I don't want to go too far so I just want to stay close to my mother," Martin said. "Those schools are kind of close. When I was raised in the country we didn't have cable. Until I moved here, I wasn't caught up on the sports at all."

To Martin, "those schools" means Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Kansas State. Martin already tripped to Kansas State and Texas is up next this weekend. Oklahoma has a visit set up for the following weekend, but the Sooners accepted a commitment from small forward Brandon Foust Sunday morning. Their status with Martin could be affected. Oklahoma State's visit is set for October 19, but that's light years away in the recruiting world.

"I just want to go and see how the campus looks before I decide," Martin said. "I won't be looking for anything major."

Martin says that right now he doesn't have a leader.
