Update On Anthony Atkinson

Greenfield School point guard Anthony Atkinson isn't going to have to pay for college. According to his father, a number of schools are showing serious interest.

No Visits Set Yet

Anthony Atkinson, a member of the North Carolina Gaters, is beginning to narrow his list of schools. Atkinson's father told TheInsidersHoops.com on Sunday night that Wichita State, Evansville, High Point, Appalachian State, Gardner Webb, Campbell, VCU and Winthrop, on some level, have been recruiting his son.

"It's going OK," the father said. "He's had some people come in. Campbell came by this week and did a home visit. Gardner Webb came by and I think High Point is going to stop in."

Campbell is pushing hard for an official visit.

"We are trying to look at what's best. Between now and November you never know what might happen."

What might happen is that his son could enjoy a fine high school season and see his recruitment go up. He's a point guard who was pressed into action at the shooting guard slot for most of the summer.
