Wire To Wire For ASU

Arizona State was in the leadership position with power forward Keith Wooden for at least the last month. On Monday night, Wooden let the cat out of the bag.

Arizona State Lands Kansan

Keith Wooden committed to Arizona State, thus ending his recruitment on Sept. 16.

"I committed to Arizona State last night," Wooden said. "I wanted to commit about a month ago. My mom wanted me to go out and see the campus and meet some of the players. She also wanted to meet Coach Evans."

Wooden had been dabbling with some other schools like Indiana and Kansas, though neither offered. His affection for Evans and the Sun Devils was something he never tried to mask throughout the process. Wooden was also ready for some new surroundings. "It'll be tough [to leave Kansas] because I have my family but I've always wanted to get out of Kansas."

Wooden is excited about the future in Tempe. "They have a nice team. Jason Braxton, Ike Diogu and they got this kid named Tron Smith. I feel like we'll be in contention."

Just what the Sun Devils will contend for could be related to the kind of career this Top 100 prospect is able to put together in Tempe.
