Laurinburg Is Blanks' Home This Year

LaKeith Blanks recently relocated from National Christian to Laurinburg Prep. We had a chance to see the 5th year prep Monday in Durham.

Grades Could Determine Recruitment

LaKeith Blanks recently relocated from National Christian Academy to Laurinburg Prep. Blanks said it was a needed move to get his academics in order.

On Monday night, with plenty of college coaches in the stands, he really shot the ball well in a pickup game between the Laurinburg players. Always noted for his athleticism, Blanks no doubt has worked on his mid and long-range game.

"He's going to help guys like Regis [Koundjia] and Von Wafer," head coach Chris Chaney said.

Meanwhile, Blanks has to be patient with his recruitment. Because of his academic standing, schools want to see not only how he progresses with hoops but more importantly how he's doing in the classroom.

Blanks said that he feels like George Washington and Texas A&M have offered. He's interested in UConn and Georgetown as well. He'll take the SAT in November.
