Tribe Lands Boston Area Player

Corey Cofield, one of Mo Vasquez's best players from Metro Boston, recently made a commitment. He'll be heading down south for college.

Cofield Picks The Tribe

Corey Cofield reached a decision. He's heading south for the next four years.

"He went down to William & Mary with his mother and she loved the place and he loved the place," Metro Boston coach Mo Vasquez said.

Cofield played injured at the AAU Nationals for Vasquez and Metro Boston/Lena Park. Athletically, he'll give the Tribe more than they presently have on their roster. Academically, he'll fit in fin.

"Put it this way, he won't have to take a language when he goes to college," Vasquez said. "It's not like he's taking regular English or regular math." Cofield's current high school is one of the top schools in the nation. The average SAT score hovers around 1,480.

"Right away, he'll be able to rebound and finish in the paint. He's going to finish strong and work hard. They got a great kid."

Cofield had also looked at Central Connecticut and Vermont.
