McLaughlin Lists Two Favorites

Mark McLaughlin, a 6-4 junior shooting guard from Washington, has seen his stock rise dramatically in the last year. McLaughlin tells us he has a couple offers and that two West Coast programs currently top his list...

Mark McLaughlin, 6-4 JR SG Kenmore (Wash.) Inglemoor, is a smooth and talented prospect. McLaughlin's got a solid shot with three-point range, but he can also put the ball on the floor and create for himself or teammates.

McLaughlin's vision and passing ability is above average for a wing. He's still nowhere close to mature physically and he's got a frame that should fill out well. With continued development, McLaughlin has a chance to be one of the elite two guards in the west for 2008.

We spoke with McLaughlin over the weekend at the Rumble In The Bay. We asked about the schools that are recruiting him.

"Oregon State and Nevada have offered," said McLaughlin. "Washington State wants me to take an unofficial visit and I'm supposed to go there on June 13th. I've been talking to Washington and Oregon a lot as well."

We asked McLaughlin if he has a leader.

"I like Nevada and Washington a lot right now," said McLaughlin. "Those are my top two right now."

McLaughlin said it will be awhile before he reaches a decision.

"I'll probably sit down with my family and decide sometime in August," said McLaughlin.
