Buckeyes Nab 2nd 2010 Stud

DeShaun Thomas has been elusive the past few days but one Indiana news outlet tracked him down. Thomas confirmed, in an interview, that he committed to Ohio State.

Since late last week the news has been out there: DeShaun Thomas to Ohio State.

The 6-foot-7 forward out of Ft. Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Luers visited the Buckeyes last week and then word began leaking out that he would commit to the Buckeyes giving Thad Matta his second Top 10 recruit in the Class of 2010. Jared Sullinger, a power forward and Columbus native, was the first.

Media outlets began reporting the news and Scout.com made numerous attempts to contact his high school and traveling team coach. After four days and a large quantity of calls we were unable to get anyone to confirm the news to our company. James Blackmon, Thomas' high school coach, was briefly reached twice and offered no insight into the process.

One media outlet was able to reach Thomas and interviewed him for a story. Indiana News Center tracked Thomas down (click on the link to watch the video).

"It ain't gonna change," Thomas told the station. "I committed. That's where I'm going to be and I'm going to go there. It ain't gonna change."

Thomas is considered by Scout.com to be the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2010.
