2009 Introduction: Brendan Lane

Brendan Lane is a good-looking sophomore forward from Northern California. He tells us that three Pac-10 progams in California have been showing the most early interest so far in recruiting him.......

Brendan Lane, 6-7 SO PF Rocklin (Calif.) High, is an impressive young prospect. Lane moves very well for his size and he's able to play inside as well as on the perimeter. He's got a solid stroke and good overall ball skills. With continued development, he figures to end up at the high major level.

We spoke with Lane recently and asked about the schools that he has been hearing from so far.

"The main three have been USC, Stanford and Cal," said Lane. "They've been showing the most interest."

We asked Lane what he is looking for in a school.

"I want to go to a good academic school," said Lane. "Someplace where it is a big-time school with playing time. I'd like to stay on the West Coast."

Lane said he isn't sure about the timing of his decision.

"I haven't given it a lot of thought," said Lane. "It will probably be sometime after my junior season."

Lane said he liked two ACC programs when he was growing up.

"My favorite schools were Duke and North Carolina, just because they were such big basketball schools," said Lane.

Lane told us he has a 4.0 GPA.
