St. Louis Strikes Again!

St. Louis is doing pretty well with its 2008 targets. On Monday night, another one called up Rick Majerus and gave his word.

The St. Louis Billikens aren't wasting any time in the Class of 2008. Already owners of a Top 100 commitment from Brett Thompson, Rick Majerus was at it again with the big men last night.

Willie Reed, a 6-foot-9 interior player from Shawnee Mission (Kan.) Bishop Meige picked SLU. "We sent out texts last night to let the coach's know," Willie Reed, Sr., told

"We talked to Coach Majerus for an hour last night. He wants to play for Coach Majerus. He's put a lot of players in the NBA and he makes sure his players get his degree. That's very important."

Reed recently visited the school and surprised his family when he made it clear he knew where he wanted to go. "He shocked me when he told. He said ‘dad I've never been more sure of anything in my life. I want to play for Coach Majerus.'"

Missouri was squarely in the mix. Missouri State, the first school to offer, was also involved. Oklahoma, according to dad, was in there as well.

"We talked about school, basketball and life. He just felt that's where he wants to be."
