Roberts Finds Home In ACC

Quincy Roberts, a wing player out of Pennsylvania, will migrate South in the fall of 2008. Roberts found a comfort zone with an ACC program and pulled the trigger Tuesday night.

The Miami Hurricanes are on the board in the Class of 2008. On Tuesday night, Quincy Roberts selected the Canes after hearing from a host of programs. Roberts is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard with aspirations of occupying both guard slots for Frank Haith's Miami program.

"They made me feel like I put myself in a great situation," Roberts said. "When I talked to them it was great. They let me know that I was going to be in good shape. I like the program and the conference. I've always wanted to play in that conference; the ACC is big time."

A litany of programs expressed interest in the Harrisburg (Pa.) High standout. Roberts indicated Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Central Florida, Nebraska and Florida State were involved before the pledge was offered up. Roberts is expected to make an unofficial visit to the Coral Gables campus this week.

"They're recruiting me to play the one and two, mainly as a combo guard," Roberts said. "I can come and I'll play a little as a freshman right away."

Harrisburg is traditionally one of the top programs in Pennsylvania and has cranked out its share of Division I players the past few seasons.
