Kenny Kadji: Big Men SEC-Bound

When Kenny Kadji came from Cameroon a couple years ago, he was lost on and off the court. However, he's gained about 40 pounds, improved his English dramatically and also seen his game blossom. Now he'll be taking it to the highest level.

Billy Donovan may have missed the NBA Draft, but he did manage to land one of the elite big men in the Class of 2008.

IMG (Fla.) 6-foot-10, 240-pound big man Kenny Kadji (, No. 21) gave the two-time defending national champion Florida Gators a verbal commitment.

Kadji is a native of Cameroon who has only been in the U.S. for about two years. He chose the Gators over Kansas State and Memphis.

``He'll give Florida a frontcourt presence," Florida Rams coach Matt Ramker said. "Especially with them losing three guys in the top top picks in the draft. He's athletic, has good size and is a terrific shot-blocker."

Kadji joins Erving Walker and recent in-state pledge Ray Shipman in the fold for the Gators in the Class of 2008.

``He wants to be great," Ramker said of Kadji. "He plays hard when he's motivated. Coach Donovan will make sure he's motivated all the time and that's what he needs."
