Robert Smith, a quick and talented rising junior point guard from Southern California, has been somewhat below the radar to this point. Look for him to attract some attention as he gets out on the summer circuit....
, 5-11 JR PG Perris (Calif.) High, is a pure point with good quickness. Smith has grown a bit in the last year and it's possible he'll get a little bigger still.
We spoke with Smith recently and asked about the programs he's been hearing from to date.
"UCLA, Clemson, Oregon, Texaas Tech...those are some of them," said Smith.
Smith talked a little about what he is looking for in a school.
"The style of play -- I like to get up and down," said Smith. "Location doesn't really matter -- it's really whatever school wants me. Playing time is somewhat important."
We asked Smith if he had a dream school growing up.
"UCLA," said Smith.
Smith said he's not in any hurry to make a decision.
"I'll probably decide sometime after my junior year," said Smith.
Smith told us he has a 2.8 GPA.
