With the evaluation period over the commitments are starting to roll in. The most recent to commit is Terrence Jennings, and he's headed to the ACC.
While in Las Vegas, Terrence Jennings
was trailed by a number of head coaches, but the one that seemed to be at every game was Gary Williams. In the end the determination paid off.
Jennings Is A Terp (Hawkins)
"I was just talking on the phone with Maryland
and that's the schools that's been recruiting me the longest," Jennings said. "I just think that will be a good place for me to develop as a big man."
Jennings is already off to a good start development wise. Last week in the Las Vegas, he was among the top performers at the Reebok Summer Championships. The 6-foot-10, 230-pound center is a big time athlete that blocks shots and can score in the paint.
His desire to play in the ACC and the relationship that he built with one of Gary Williams' assistants led him to pick the Terrapins.
"Me and Gary Williams haven't talked that much, but we've talked some. I've mainly talked to Coach Driesell. Everything is good though. Gary he's a good guy.
Jennings, who picked Maryland over Kentucky and Washington, averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds at Durham (N.C.) Mount Zion last season.
