Wright Down To A Pair

With the available point guards in the class of 2008 dwindling, Cashmere Wright is being pursued at a high level. However the Savannah (Ga.) Urban Christian Academy standout won't be available much longer.

After de-committing from Clemson in early July, Cashmere Wright received calls from a handful of ACC, Big East and SEC programs. Now, the 6-foot, 160-pound lead man is down to a pair.

"It's going great," he said of his recruitment. "I've cut it down to two schools. Tennessee and Cincinnati and those are probably going to be the two that I choose from."

Two Remain For Wright
This past weekend Wright spent some time with Bruce Pearl and his staff on Tennessee's campus. Wright came away with a good impression of their facilities and took in a practice, as the Vols are preparing for a trip overseas.

"I went to Tennessee. It went great. I got a tour and I hung out with the players and everything and interacted with them. I got to know most of them well."

"I talked to Coach Pearl and Coach Summitt. I talked to all of them. I love him as a coach. At Tennessee their playing style fits me very well."

This coming weekend, Wright plans to visit Cincinnati. Wright cited a relationship with their Associate Head Coach, as the reason the Bearcats jumped to the top of his list so quickly.

"Coach Davis, I've known him for five going on six years. I've always had a relationship with him and that put Cincinnati up there. I feel comfortable with Coach Davis and that's what that came down to."

Following the visit to Cincinnati, Wright plans to come up with a decision. A commitment could come as early as next week.
