James Rahon Headed to WCC

James Rahon, one of the best shooters in the country for 2008, was coveted by numerous West Coast programs. After narrowing his list to a few schools, Rahon reached a decision. He'll be staying in the state of California for college...

James Rahon, 6-4 SR SG Encinitas (Calif.) Torrey Pines, told me today that he has committed to Santa Clara.

"I decided on Santa Clara," said Rahon. "The other two finalists were Utah and San Diego State.

I asked Rahon what it was about Santa Clara that led to his decision.

"I liked all of the schools recruiting me," said Rahon. "But I love the coaches at Santa Clara. The academics are obviously good. And I just have a good feeling about being a Bronco. I think there will be a chance to play early and I just have a good feeling about them.

Rahon, perhaps the best shooter in the West Coast class of 2008, is the fourth player to commit to new Bronco head coach Kerry Keating. Previously, Paul George, Troy Alexander and Kevin Foster had committed to the Broncos.
