"I think it helped my recruiting by going to these big tournaments and coaches being there. I feel like it helped me [showcase] myself."
"[Recruiting is] going great. I think it's a dead period now, so the college coaches aren't really calling much now, but I think it's going great."
"I like all of them. Right now I'm just looking at their styles. Me and my dad were thinking about cutting it down to 10, but we haven't decided yet."
McDonald has heard critics say he won't leave the state, but he's quick to counter that assertion. "Some people say that I'm afraid to leave state, but I'm not afraid to leave the state. Each college has a chance for me to go there and I'm not afraid to step out of Memphis."
Most 2008 prospects will be taking visits in September and October, and although McDonald is in the 2009 class, he'll be taking a few visits as well. He hopes to finalize dates soon.
"We should be making some visits this fall, so it's going to be a hard decision. I haven't set up any visits yet, but hopefully I'll be able to set them up before September."
McDonald is ranked No. 5 at the shooting guard position and No. 18 overall in the class of 2009 by Scout.com.
