Center Schafer to Oregon

The #2-ranked center on the west coast, Ray Schafer, continues a recent hot commitment streak for Oregon by verbally committing to the Ducks...

Ray Schafer, 6-10 SR C, Wasilla (Alaska) High, has verbally committed to the Oregon Ducks.

Shafer, ranked the #3 center on the west coast in the senior class, has a great deal of potential. He is a very good athlete, runs very well, and has a body that looks like it could put on good weight.

Shafer picked Oregon over ASU, San Diego State, and Gonzaga.

This is the third big commitment for the Ducks in the last three weeks. They first received a commitment from the #3-ranked point guard in the west, Aaron Brooks, Seattle (Wash.) Franklin. Last week, the Ducks got a verbal commitment from Mitch Platt, 6-9 C, Las Vegas (Nev.) Green Valley, the #4-ranked center in the west.
