Pomlee Still Figuring Things Out

Although official visits are the talk of August and September, L.A. Pomlee refuses to get into the discussion. The 6-foot-7 rising senior is still trying to figure out his list and who is making him a priority.

L.A. Pomlee's recruiting situation seems to be on hold. Following a decent summer, that had him playing in events such as NBPA Camp, the Super Showcase and AAU Nationals, Pomlee is taking a step back from the recruiting process.

With interest from Iowa State, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Bradley, Pomlee is getting strong interest from some highly regarded schools. However, the 6-7, 205-pound forward is still trying to decide who is truly interested.

"A lot [of schools] said they would offer, but that they wanted to wait and see how I ended the school year," Pomlee said.

The Davenport (La.) Central standout is also waiting to schedule his official visits. Other than one particular school, he's unsure which colleges he wants to take trips too.

"I haven't started taking visits yet. Right now I'm just talking to coaches and trying to see where I'm at with them. I'm trying to narrow it down."

His favorite thus far is Iowa State. The Cyclones staff has made him feel wanted and they've built a strong relationship with Pomlee.

"Their coaches are really cool," Pomlee, said. "Coach McDermott seems like a good guy and I like their style of play."

Obviously a good coaching staff and style of play will factor into his decision, but he's also looking for a particular major.

"I'm looking for a school with a good business program because that's probably what I'm going to major in. Basketball wise, just a team that gets up and down the court, but can slow it down and run a good offense. I'm looking for a good coach too."

Pomlee, who is ranked No. 34 on the power forward list, likely won't make his college decision until the end of the basketball season.
