Jefferson Makes Decision

The commitment streak continues, but this time it's a 2009 product. Cory Jefferson visited a Big 12 program this weekend and he made his college decision during the trip.

The Baylor Bears got Cory Jefferson on campus this weekend and the 6-foot-9, 180-pound power forward must have liked what he saw, as he gave a verbal commitment before he left Waco.

"I just committed to Baylor," Jefferson said. "They have great facilities and they have great coaches. It's close to home and I liked that. I think it was a good decision."

Jefferson, who was heavily recruited by Bears assistant Mark Morefield, had scholarship offers from Kansas State, Marquette, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.

According to Jefferson the facilities, as well as the Bears coaching staff played major roles in his decision to go to Baylor.

"We watched them practice and scrimmage. We also went around and saw the facilities and the weight room, locker rooms and everything."

Jefferson, a standout at Killeen (Tex.) High, is Baylor's first commitment in the 2009 class.
