Long To Decide This Week

Casey Long, one of the top remaining prospects in the state of North Carolina, is close to reaching a decision. Right now, he's down to a pair of schools.

Tulane, Chattanooga Battle

Casey Long is looking to make short work of his recruitment. The guard from 71st High says that he'll be ready to end his recruitment this week.

"Wednesday will probably be decision day," Long said. His final two schools are Tulane and UT-Chattanooga.

Like many of his peers around the country, Long is having a tough time picking a school. "Its pretty much 50-50. The Tulane visit went very well and the Chattanooga visit went very well. It's going to be a hard choice but I'm shooting for Wednesday."

Long originally hails from Louisianan but moved two years ago to North Carolina. Obviously, one of his choices would get him closer to "home" but what exactly constitutes home for him. "Good question. My parents are talking about after my sister graduates (from 71st) next year they could be moving to a lot of different places. They could move back to Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, who knows. Being away from home doesn't matter. Distance isn't a factor. They'll leave it up to me and whichever one is best for me."

Naturally, Long says that he's got to feel comfortable with his decision. "The single most important factor is my comfort level. If I'm going to spend the next four years there I want to know that I can spend four years there academically and socially."
