Brendan Lane Still Open

Brendan Lane has a number of high major programs expressing interest in him, but he says he's still open to hearing from new programs...

Brendan Lane, 6-8 JR PF Rocklin (Calif.) High, is one of the elite big men in the West Coast class of 2009. A very skilled four man, Lane can shoot the three and he also handles well for a player his size. Lane moves very well for a young big and he's a good shot-blocker. With continued development, he has a chance to be one of the elite players in the country.

I spoke with Lane recently and asked about the schools he's been hearing from lately.

"The main ones are Stanford, USC, Cal, Washington, Arizona State and Virginia," said Lane. "USC, Cal, ASU and Virginia have offered."

I asked Lane if he's still open to hearing from other schools.

"Yes, I haven't cut down my list yet," said Lane. "I'm still open to other schools."

Lane has a couple unofficial visits upcoming.

"I'm going to Cal this Saturday and then I'm going to USC on October 13th," said Lane. "I'm trying to set something up with ASU, but I don't have a date yet."

I asked Lane if he has an idea as to when he'll pick a school.

"I think I'll probably decide sometime around the end of the school year," said Lane.

Lane said he doesn't have a leader.

"They're all pretty equal right now," said Lane.
