A.J. Walton, a 6-foot, 165-pound PG, has a number of schools trailing him. Baylor, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kentucky have shown a considerable amount of interest and he claims scholarship offers from each.
The Little Rock (Ark.) Hall standout has already developed a pair of favorites from his list of schools. Baylor and Arkansas have risen to the top and his recent visit to Waco, Tex., left him with a good impression of the Bears.
"It was wonderful," Walton said of his visit to Baylor. "My parents really liked it and they were really impressed with the coaching staff and they just seemed to really like it."
"I loved it," he continued. "I've loved it since the first time I went down there. I like the coaching staff and the players. All the players, I'm really close with them. I love going down there."
Walton claimed the Razorbacks as one of his favorites as well. The fact that he grew up around Arkansas basketball and a Razorback fan has a lot to do with his interest in the program.
"I like Arkansas," Walton stated. "I'm trying to see what their coaching staff is going to do this year since they have a new coach. But I like Arkansas. I'm an Arkansas boy."
Despite growing up in Arkansas, Walton has yet to take an unofficial visit to Fayetteville. Although a date isn't set up, he'll likely visit the Razorbacks in the next few months.
Walton, who averaged 18 points and 7 assists last season, doesn't have an urgent timetable on making his college decision. He would, however, like to make his commitment by the end of his upcoming season.
